The BayAreaCMO ORBIE Awards is the premier marketing executive recognition program in the Bay Area, honoring Chief Marketing Officers who have demonstrated excellence in marketing leadership. CMOs are typically recognized in multiple categories, based on the size and scope of their organization and responsibilities.

The ORBIE Awards is a series of events celebrating outstanding CMOs who drive innovation, inspire teams, and deliver results at the highest level.

ORBIE Leadership Reception

This cocktail-style executive event features an inspirational, leadership-oriented program delivered by a high-profile marketing executive. CMO nominees are recognized for their accomplishments and media coverage is provided by a local Media Partner.

Finalist Reception & Dinner

The most exclusive event in the ORBIE Awards program is the Finalist Dinner. This themed event, “The Most Interesting CMOs in the World”, is a multi-course experience, with a chef-introduced menu and sommelier-selected wine pairings, led by CMO finalists and attended by CMO members and select partner executives. The collegial format of this dinner is often the most highly-rated event of the year, creating a unique opportunity for strengthening existing relationships and establishing new connections.

ORBIE Awards

The ORBIE Awards, the largest and final event, is a broadcast-quality, professionally produced awards ceremony honoring the CMO finalists and revealing the ORBIE winners. The program features a high-profile executive keynote along with video introductions of the finalists and select sponsors. Media coverage is provided by the local Media Partner.

Judging Criteria

The BayAreaCMO ORBIE Awards honor CMOs who have demonstrated excellence in marketing leadership.

CMO Qualifications
  • Holds the title of Chief Marketing Officer or equivalent marketing executive position
  • Is a member of senior management
  • Primarily responsible for the marketing operations of an organization or subsidiary based in the Bay Area
CMO Judging Criteria
  • Leadership and management effectiveness
  • Business value created by marketing initiatives
  • Engagement in industry and community endeavors

Anyone in the community may nominate a deserving CMO; there is no limit to the number of nominations you may submit.
